There are three mayoral candidates – incumbent Ken Miyagishima, District 2 Councilor Dolores Connor and activist Michael Ray Huerta. To avoid a runoff, a candidate must win at least 40 percent of the vote.

There are also three seats on the City Council up for grabs. In the District 1 race, incumbent Miguel Silva faces challenger Natalie Chadborn. In the open District 2 race, the candidates are Fred Espinosa, Charles Scholz and Gregory Z. Smith. And in District 4, incumbent Nathan Small faces challenger Aaron Henry Diaz.

In the presiding municipal judge race, incumbent Melissa Miller-Byrnes faces challenger Frank Chavez.
