The course on the state’s Open Meetings Act (OMA) and Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) is free and “designed to help government agencies and municipalities better understand the requirements” of the state laws, according to a news release. The public is also invited to attend and learn more about the transparency that New Mexico laws require from local and state government agencies.

Balderas has already held several sunshine-law trainings around the state, as have previous attorneys general in New Mexico.

The Las Cruces training will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road. The AG’s Office asks that those who plan to attend RSVP to La Verne Roller at roadshows@nmag.gov or by telephone at (505) 827-6070.
