Reporters go undercover to investigate voting

KOB-TV’s Peter St. Cyr and Gadi Schwartz went undercover in Rio Arriba County to investigate people who were offering rides to the polls. St. Cyr got into a very interesting situation.

It’s worth watching the 8-minute report, which you can do right here:

  1. Thank you Gadi and Peter!  You were able to do what no other would care to get themselves involved in!  That includes the FBI, Secretary of State Diane Duran, Attorney General Gary King and State Auditor Hector Balderas.  We need the Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative Inc and Rio Arriba County Departments audited/investigated.

Many in this community have made requests but political favors ALWAYS takes precedence.  If anyone of you reading this can make something happen, we would greatly appreciate it!  We’re DROWNING IN CORRUPATION IN RIO ARRIBA COUNTY!!!

  2. Not to be cavalier about it but penny-ante stuff compared to the big-time corruption that goes on because of single-party control  in these  northern counties. For example, the county manager of SF Co is fired for sweetheart deals and then gets hired as city manager in Espanola. Eventually gets indicted as we all knew he would and the mayor still refuses to fire him………..And our former guv sends millions to political backers and Dems are pretty much still in favor…….It’s not the politicians i blame but the voters……

  3. Old habits die hard … and they don’t get paid to provide booze to people they don’t know in exchange for voting … gracious.

  4. Tip of the iceberg.

EXCELLENT job Gentlemen. The citizenry is indebted to Schwartz, St. Cyr and Haussamen. They all deserve a financial reward much like whistleblowers and crime stoppers.

  5. This was a very good report, but honestly, this was not news to those of us living in this northern part of the banana republic of NM.  My neighbor tells me of a political operative who comes in every election day morning in his van to get a $100 bill exchanged for 100 ones. When asked what he needs so many ones for, he explains that the voters he drives to the polls deserve something for voting.  But I’m sure this guy never says a word about who they should vote for, right?
