Richardson won’t comment on grand jury probe
Former Gov. Bill Richardson refused to comment earlier today on a pending grand jury investigation into an accusation that he had supporters pay off a woman to keep quiet about their alleged extramarital affair.
Richardson was asked about the grand jury probe by KOB-TV’s Gadi Schwartz, who ran into him at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe. Capitol Report New Mexico’s Rob Nikolewski recorded video of the encounter.
Richardson’s response when Schwartz asked if he had any comment on the probe? “Merry Christmas.” Then the former governor left the building while the reporters followed him.

Despite where Bill Richardson is, what he says, or has said, all the insiders know what he is thinking…
“Amanda Cooper was the worst decision I ever made. “
I hope Bill or someone at the cable news business is paying for using our public facilities. The Roundhouse is not Bill’s private facility for interviews on his “opinions” and promoting his speaking business. We taxpayers own and are paying for the facilities he is using, and if he or someone isn’t paying to cover our costs, an investigation should be undertaken. I also object to our state seal being used as a backdrop for his “opinions” on the news, the subject has no connection to us, he has no connection to this state anymore, will soon leave town (good riddance), and never liked it here anyway except when he was ruling us like a tyrant. What do you think the Roundhouse would say if I, a private NM citizen, were to ask to use not for this type of garbage? Right, I couldn’t even get them to unlock the door for me, why is Bill so special then, he is just a failed politician under investigation constantly for corruption.
GFA:
He was at the Round House because that’s the nearest place with the proper facilities to do interviews by satellite, and with Kim Jong Il’s death, he’s doing a lot of them.
It was a stroke of luck for these reporters to run into Richardson and appropriately ask him about the investigation. While Richardson ignored the questions, it was curious why he was at the Round House. I guess he misses it. It will be interesting to see where this investigation goes, and if Richardson is finally going to be held accountable for something.
