Turnout ‘steady’ in Doña Ana County

With the Republican gubernatorial candidate being from Las Cruces and several other contested races on the ballot, turnout his pretty good in Doña Ana County today.

“It’s been steady all day long,” Chief Deputy Clerk Mario Jimenez said. “We’ve had places that have been busy all day long.”

Jimenez said he is confident that overall turnout in the county will hit 35-40 percent.

Just over 20 percent of registered voters in Doña Ana County voted early and absentee.
