Ortiz y Pino picks up legislative endorsements
Democratic Lt. Gov. candidate Jerry Ortiz y Pino has announced the endorsements of several of his legislative colleagues.
The new endorsements come from Sens. Tim Eichenberg, Dede Feldman, Eric Griego, Tim Keller and Cisco McSorley, all of Albuquerque.
“Senator Ortiz y Pino has had a distinguished career as an elected official, advocate for working families, and ethical public servant,” Griego said in a news release from the Ortiz y Pino campaign. “He has never forgotten who he works for – the people – and he will fight for them as lieutenant governor.”
Ortiz y Pino called the endorsements “a meaningful statement to the voters,” saying they are “not made lightly” and come “from a depth of knowledge about me, my positions and my record.”
Ortiz y Pino already has the endorsements of several other lawmakers – Sens. Cynthia Nava and Steve Fischmann and Rep. Antonio Lujan of Las Cruces, Sen. John Pinto of Tohatchi and Reps. Miguel Garcia and Antonio “Moe” Maestas of Albuquerque.

Senator Ortiz y Pino is a good and honest man … to progressive, but he has integrity and his legislation is well thought out. A man to be respected.
Indeed, a good sampling of “progressives” of a like mind to Mr. y Pino. Birds of a feather as they say.
A good sampling of legislators from south of I-40 as well as the Albuquerque area.
