You tell us that we are moving forward because your office has two convictions, and you've been in office for how many years? Staying the course in NM will have us all under suicide watch by 2014.

Even I, once a supporter, must say "No Thank You" to this one Mr. King.

"We have also tried for several years to have the Legislature pass a law that would apply the ethical considerations of the Governmental Conduct Act to local elected officials, but so far, to no avail."

This statement, in my mind is critical to ever begin to put a dent in the corruption of elected local public officials, by local public officials I mean school board members, city council members, and county commisioners which condone through, ignorance and or laziness, unethical or illegal acts by public employees under their charge. The legislature must be convinced by the voting public that this act must include ALL elected public officials.

I am frustrated by the fact that your Office offers so little information in response to legitimate questions.

I understand that there are records and information that should not be shared with the public for good and ethical reasons. Any truths up to that line belong to the people. I feel that a great number of those truths are being withheld from public knowledge for less than good and ethic reasons.

Where is the line; are we entitled only to what we can prove in court that we are entitled to, or are we entitled to it all save what is excepted and protected by due process and the law?

In a related question. What do you think about a single office/agency whose sole responsibility it is, to ethically redact public records before surrendering them to public knowledge.?

The idea that the persons most in need of hiding the truth, get to do the redacting, is nonsensical. Isn't working, clearly.

Good to finally hear from the AG. Understand that some things can't be talked about in the open. Would help to know if he is going after King Richardson and Queen Diane for some of the stuff many of us have concerns about (like enormous campaign treasuries) and has been hinted at in blogs and articles for some time now.

I mean if the AG of New York can talk about SIC scandals in NM and name names, why can't our AG at least indicate he's on board with it, being asked questions about it or even conducting his own investigation?

And, the AG should, if he thinks the Government Conduct Act is good enough, stop all the talk about forming ethics commissions legislatively. They will not do the job and only create more opportunity for the foxes to be guarding the chickens!

Thanks, Dr. King, for sounding off a bit! More is needed, please!
