Here’s the standard disclaimer Gov. Bill Richardson’s office often gives when a report surfaces saying Richardson is a candidate for a job somewhere outside of New Mexico.

“The governor is not interested in this job and he is not interested in becoming a lobbyist. He plans to live in Santa Fe and drive around the country visiting Major League ballparks after term ends,” The Santa Fe New Mexican’s Steve Terrell is quoting Richardson spokesman Gilbert Gallegos as saying.

That’s in response to a report published in the National Journal’s “Under the Influence” blog stating that Richardson is “one of a mix” of people under consideration to head the Motion Picture Association of America.

Update, 11 a.m.

Howard Gantman, spokesman for the movie association, said he had no information about whether Richardson is under consideration for the association’s CEO job.

“There is a search underway. I really don’t have any details on the search,” Gantman said.
