Incidentally, I did notice that Joe Monahan managed to actually do his job as a journalist and sift through the campaign spin on this story.

Heath, while you do report that Junior gave himself $50K, you neglect to mention that about $75K of Junior's contributions come from outside New Mexico. Further, Junior included $26K from a Carlsbad luncheon in one lump sum and without any names. Though the statement below claims that he will eventually post that information, it seems clear that he included the non-attributed contributes to inflate his report. Fair enough, that isn't illegal. However, those omissions in your story seem glaring and raises some questions in my mind about the legitimacy and fairness of your reporting.

I'm also left wondering whether or not anyone would care about Junior if not for the fact that he shares his father's name and has his father raising money for him. This report makes that fact clear. Based on his personality and his questionable past, I'm not convinced he could have the fortitude to run on his own. Frankly, I worry that voters will not learn that Junior is not Senior prior to a primary election, though they will most certainly learn this in a general against Diane Denish. The result will be a Democratic victory and a devastating loss for New Mexicans.
