		<description>Could not agree with you more, Michael.  This newest law is merely cheap, easy (and difficult to trace in terms of where it gets spent!) revenue builder that would only have been enacted because our City Council governs by fiat.  We need to change our charter so that ALL the citizens of Las Cruces get to vote on ordinances--they&#039;re getting too expensive NOT to.

By the way--the recent results of a ten year study (below) shows that these laws are WORTHLESS in reducing accidents.  Similar research says the same about &quot;red light cameras&quot;.
