Keep up the good work Senator, taxes do raise adequate amount of revenue funds and it is better to raise taxes by a few pennies then to start terminating staff. I also agree to tighten our tax laws as they apply to certain corporations. I can testify from personal experience that it is better to sacrifice a little which we can do without than to loose it entirely. Keep up the hard work as having to make decisions of a certain caliber, need to be made and it is also easier to cheer from the stands than to be playing the game so keep making those tough decisions.

Does Mr. Campos really believe what he is writing?

The following is an excerpt from the Stockton Lecture in 1976 of Keith Joseph titled 'Monetarism Is Not Enough':

Though it is true, there is always talk of cutting public expenditure, it has remained almost entirely talk. Cutting public expenditure has come to mean juggling with figures...But whereas cuts in public expenditures rarely eventuate, squeezes on the private sector are 'for real'. The interest rate is increased, bank lending is contracted, taxes are raised, other old-fashioned deflationary measures are used. The private sector is punished for the state sector's profligacy.

Fast forward 34 years to 2010 and it appears to be writing about New Mexico State fiscal policies.

Roll back the Richardson era tax cut for the top tax bracket and raise it to the level that former Gov. Gary Johnson had it at. The Republicans should embrace the idea of putting taxes back where the former Republican Gov. had them.

Let's start by assuming the budget contains only what's necessary and does not include any porky stuff. (Still with me?) Now assume the government is actively finding ways to encourage the growth of revenue producing industries instead of creating obstacles. (Still there?) Then we see that a temporary increase (yeah right temporary) that affects all New Mexicans will solve the crisis. Somehow just taxing the "rich" is never enough, just like reducing taxes on the :"rich" is never really the problem. Its spending.

Why did Senator Campos vote against overriding Richardson's veto of SB 531? (Medicaid records transparency).
