Sounds like Heath is giving her a pass. After claiming that she is the only candidate with any ethics (WRONG!), she is now trying to split hairs about accepting and soliciting. Who knows what happens in the halls of the roundhouse right before $25,000 from a lobbyist just pops up at her doorstep. Shame, shame, SAME! It makes me nervous that they think this makes them the most ethical campaign the Democratic Party has ever run in NM.

The fact that Diane Denish is arguing about the differnce between accepting donations and soliciting them; AFTER she made a big scene about saying she was voluntairly living up to a higher standard is laughable. But, not surprising. When the state is fleeced by corruption, Diane sits by, afraid to call out the crooks because they are part of her own party. Does she really think voters are going to forget that she has been MIA for the last years she has been by Big Bill's side?

The lieutenant governor can cast a tie-breaking vote, can influence the legislative process, and routinely signs legislation into law. This law should already cover her.

And someone please remind me what past transgression would have been prevented by disclosing donors ahead of schedule? Would this have prevented Manny from trying to steal $4 million of taxpayer money? Would it have prevented the treasurers from being involved in a kickback scheme? Would it have prevented Richardson from "corrupting" the procurement process and therefore directing a state contract to CDR?
