Looks like we’re all in line here … and the high level, politically connected folks are first in line at the trough. The State, and the County of Santa Fe take the risk – and the owners get the benefits. Government should foster conditions that help encourage investors to take risk … and absolve the investors of the all the risks. New Mexico has been taken to the cleaners by this crud … we’ve lost the laundry … and the bill hasn’t been paid yet. As Ellen said, “Good grief …” VERY astute.

Well said wedum59. These things are just pork, and most will end badly as we taxpayers foot the bill once again for failed, speculative business ventures. Let the businesses take the risk, not us taxpayers, that is true capitalism. Government subsidies, bailouts, and government give-aways are wrong, but just see which party is pushing this concept most often.

Oh, good grief. Another one of these public-private partnerships. The state and county should just divvy up the $18M and give stimulus checks to New Mexico’s unemployed. It would probably do more good that way.
