"The obscurity that surrounds state spending must be lifted. We need an independent and impartial review of all state spending. All the facts need to be on the table."
That is Hector's job, ched. Now the state auditor is going to take a cut so deep that this function will be rendered defunct. Talk about penny wise and pound foolish.
Growth in Las Cruces does need to be limited and slowed as to be done in a deliberative and sustainable way. The desert cannot support unbridled growth. The municipality cannot support too rapid expansion. I think the progressive city government will so just fine by Las Cruces.

I stand in line willing to share the sacrifices. I would feel better about that if I thought the waste would end before the sacrifices begin.

I learned something new today, about the cost of sending our prisoners somewhere else. How many others wastes don't I know about? How many don't even someone as "tuned in" as you know about?

The obscurity that surrounds state spending must be lifted. We need an independent and impartial review of all state spending. All the facts need to be on the table.

The big question is, how do we make that happen?

Thankfully, whether anyone likes what we may say, we still have a right to express our thoughts in written form as Mr. Bundy has done so eloquently.

Govt constantly chants -- the need to always make sacrifices, tighten the belt or as Mr. Bundy adeptly describes stealing from some and giving to others -- "Many fingers make light lifting.”

Before we got into this economic mess govt preachers said they had the cures for all kinds of societal problems, but the facts do not bear our their claims. Therefore, it would seem appropriate to chop all govt agencies fat and let the private sector heal from the wounds govt created.
