I think they are just trying to make it in these expensive times.  It is not immoral because they are not cheating anybody.  They are just playing by the rules (laws) that you, Senator,  had a part in creating.    In return for their services over a 25 year career, the retirees contributed to their retirement plan as did the employer, the state.  Many of these employees were paid with federal funds and the state's contribution was also paid out of federal funds.  As with any workforce, these employees for the most part worked hard and EARNED their retirement pay.  It was not given to them.  They tolerated and survived the follies of the various administrations who placed their friends and supporters in classified jobs (Carruthers, Johnson,  King) and those administrations that placed them in GOVEX positions (Richardson).    The real problem here is the envy of those who are not able to participate, but it surely is not immoral.    “it is immoral to have one person drawing two checks when two people could each be drawing one,” Really?  Then everybody in New Mexico who has two jobs is immoral?
