Kudos to 'That One' on calling the tune right on target. I don't think anyone could have said it better. The only thing left out is that Bill has buffered himself so thoroughly from prosecution that he will leave the proverbial henhouse, (or should we call it the roundhouse) without a scratch. Reminds one of Pontius Pilate when he washed his hands of wrongdoing back more than two thousand of years ago.

Now we will find out if the people have been fooled or if they are astute.

So what did we all get after two terms of the Bill and Ben duo running the State government in New Mexico? We got a huge tax cut for the wealthy offset by spending cuts for the poor, temporary increases in education spending funded with Permanent Fund dollars no longer there now that we need them to help offset the huge $650 million deficit we're now dealing with--a deficit rooted not only in revenue shortfalls but in huge expenditures we made as a State on questionable projects requiring complicated financial packaging that gave the Guv the means to employee out of state interests like CDR that, in turn, had no qualms about "paying for playing" the so-called political game in New Mexico, thus garnering for the Guv many generous "contributions" for his PAC schemes and Presidential campaign treasure chest. We ended up with a fancy jet plane to support the Guv in his Presidential bid, a fancy helicopter to transport the Guv around in State in style, a Rail Runner mass transportation system that will forever be a huge recurring operating expense to the State (budget shortfall or not), and a $200 million gamble in a Spaceport that has not and won't likely ever do much to improve health care, education or quality of life for the average New Mexican. And so after seven year of Uncle Bill and Uncle Ben playing footsie with our collective future as a State, this is where we now find ourselves. Now isn't that just precious!
