You may know Peter St. Cyr as a reporter for 770 KKOB-AM in Albuquerque. As of today, he’s also a reporter for NMPolitics.net.

St. Cyr is joining me in helping bring you comprehensive coverage of politics and government in New Mexico. Look for posts from him on this site several times each week.

St. Cyr has a unique and diverse set of skills, and I’m excited to bring him on board. He was honored in 2008 by the New Mexico Broadcaster’s Association for excellence in broadcasting. He also runs his own blog — What’s the Word? — and writes a monthly feature for Albuquerque the Magazine.

He regularly contributes New Mexico and regional stories to ABC Radio News and Fox Radio News. He has been a guest panelist on KNME TV’s New Mexico In Focus program and has appeared on national radio programs and as a guest on CNN’s Nancy Grace Program.

St. Cyr also has a background in marketing communications, having worked for an international gas company for nearly a decade, and he has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Mary’s College in California.

Today, St. Cyr also does some work as a social marketing consultant. To avoid a conflict, he won’t report for this site on stories involving any of his clients.

Please welcome St. Cyr to NMPolitics.net.
