I assure you that my comments that were not posted met all the policy criteria. No bashing, no misrepresented facts. Just an opposing opinion to the comments made by others. It seems to many of us that this site has strictly become a univeristy and President Martin bashing site. There are many good and beneficial things happening at NMSU. Any one up for something positive written about on this blog?

In response to the above 2 comments: If you click on “Ethical Guidelines” at the top of this blog, scroll down to “Reader Participation,” and read Heath’s “Comments Policy,” you will see the ONLY reasons (barring computer glitches) that comments are screened out of the blog. To suggest anything else shows how seldom you read this blog and how little you know about it. There are many published comments that agree and disagree with the stated opinion. That is why this is such a good forum for open discussion.

I discussed this with several good friends yesterday and I wrote a response in opposition to you as we sat together. It never got posted. It proved to all of us that you scream the postings and only post that items that support your position. We’ve decided to let others know that this isn’t an “open discussion” blog. We had hoped for better.

I am sure that the local newpapers and other media must read your reporting and investigative work. Why is the local media unwilling to publish this information to the community and are they also complicit? How much advertising money does NMSU spend with local newspapers and is the answer that simple?

Maybe if the foundation and NMSU was not paying for all this travel, housing, cars and other perks they could afford to let KRWG-tv run News22 year round with a real staff. Oops, forgot they don’t want a real local newscast, it’s safer for us to see Texas news.

Finally someone with a backbone is shining a very clear light on NMSU and all its underlings that think they are “all that.”
Well, this is disgusting information, but nevertheless important to this community and this state, so we thank you for the diligence you obviously put into the research of this expose.

Here are a few more questions. Who makes the decision whether Martin’s entertainment expenses should be covered by the foundation? Martin? The Foundation Board? I guess my real question is where is the accountability? Also, how is Martin’s fund raising performance measured? By the total amount of $ brought in? By how and where it is expended? By results of the the programs/projects funded?
