And I say Yes. It would be about time. I will not run for this office, even with my years of expierence because I have to support my family and I can not do it on $80.00 a day for what 30 days per year? Elected officials must be paid, period.

Right now the only ones running for office are retires or the rich, lowering the playing field to them and not the middle class or the poor, which is about 75% of us.

Seems to me that even the rich, like the former Treasurer, is suceptable to greed.

The rich and the retires are not getting it done, they just want more, What the heck are you afraid of? Poor people getting elected who know what its like to be poor raising children in a State that is known for being one of the worst in the Nation when it comes to protecting our children?

Mr. Burgos I think you need to reconsider.

To solve the problem, you must create a situation where one can serve for 30 days or 60 days without being fired from their present job. That means you must make it worth one's while to quit their present job. $25K per year to each legislator won't induce anyone worth having to quit their present job and become a lawmaker; it would only further line the pockets of the privileged class that now serves.
